Stephanie Watts

Transportation Planning Manager

Stephanie joined the MPO in May of 2013 as the first full-time staff person, shortly after its designation. She is responsible for supporting the multimodal transportation planning process for the 3-county area. This includes coordinating with the region's local jurisdictions, community organizations, and citizens, to provide an engaging and effective transportation planning process. Stephanie is also responsible for preparing the required core documents the FHMPO must develop, approve and maintain.

Prior to working for the FHMPO, Stephanie was a Transportation Planner for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), where she served in both partnership and oversight roles for Kansas' Metropolitan Planning Organizations. While at KDOT she also served as project manager for a statewide Intercity Bus Study and several corridor plans. Stephanie has a master's degree in Regional and Community Planning from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences with a minor in Leadership Programs and Studies.
