Transit Administrator /Mobility Manager

Sondra fills two critical roles for the region. First, Sondra is the Regional Transit Manager, responsible for overseeing the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) 5307 Urban Funding Program. Nearly $1 million is allocated to the Manhattan Urbanized Area (UZA) each year to be used for supporting urban transit services within and to/from the Manhattan UZA. Secondly, Sondra serves as the Mobility Manager for the 7-county Flint Hills Transit Region, where she is responsible for coordinating the regional transit system with all transit providers, both within the Flint Hills Region, as well as with surrounding regions.

Prior to joining the FHRTA, Sondra was the Program Manager for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) Bureau of Local Projects. She was responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of multiple federal aid and state-funded programs. She also served as a liaison between the Bureau and local public entities and managed the program and contract sections of the Bureau.

Sondra holds a Master of Science in Management from Baker University and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Washburn University.
