The Flint Hills Regional Council (FHRC) hosted the inaugural Flint Hills Regional Institute Workshop for the cities of Clay Center, Onaga and Council Grove on May 19-20, 2017 in Manhattan, Kansas. The workshop was sponsored by a HUD grant from the Minnesota Housing Partnership. Teams from the communities worked on implementation of projects identified in recent planning efforts.
"MHP empowers leaders and organizations to work collaboratively to achieve and sustain regional community development goals” (Minnesota Housing Partnership, 2016).
The MHP staff has extensive experience working with rural communities in the areas of housing, community engagement, collaboration, community development and organizational development.
The Flint Hills Regional Institute will host five to six workshops over the course of 18 months. The next workshop will be held in July 2017.
