On Friday, October 21, 2016, the Flint Hills Regional Council Board of Directors met at the Chapman District Office in Chapman, Kansas. Commissioner Robert Boyd, Board President, kicked off the meeting at 9:00 a.m. After introductions were completed Chapman Mayor Jeff Blixt and Board Member Councilman Lee Wolf welcomed everyone to their community. The previous meeting minutes were approved and Director Gary Stith presented his reports.
Scott Kohl, Highland Community College V&E Program Director, and Entrepreneur David Tegtmeier of Liquid Art Winery presented on Viticulture and Viniculture along with the economic development opportunities of wineries in the Flint Hills Region. After a short break, Economic Development Administration Representative Mark Werthmann presented on the programs his agency has to offer now that the region is an Economic Development District. The meeting concluded with city, county, and partner updates.
The next board meeting will be held on November 18, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. in Alta Vista.
